Elastomeric Coatings and Penetrating Sealants are waterproofing solutions which are applied to a building structure in order to keep water from entering the composition. Elastomeric coatings are usually applied as a fluid paint-like material to concrete or similar material, which forms a rubber like membrane when cured. Penetrating sealants can be applied in a spray-on form to a porous material, such as brick, which causes the material to be impenetrable by water.

PROJECT SHOWCASE:
The Problem - Customer had 3 buildings in need of structural and cosmetic improvements. Customer was trying to stop water penetration during driving rains and also give the building a facelift to enhance appearance. (Building was getting ready to be sold.)

The Tri-State Solution - After meeting with Building representatives, Tri-State made the following observations and recommendations:

• Recaulk all joints on bullnose ledges
  
• Apply elastomeric coating to all bullnoses
  
• Apply waterproof penetrating sealant to all brickwork
  
• Powerwash entire structure to remove all mildew and mold

The Outcome - During the course of the project, the customer noticed sagging panels underneath the bullnoses. Panel repair was added to the scope of work, for a nominal cost. The job was completed as quoted and on time.
